Merkur zavarovalnica remains a presenting partner at least until 2028
Merkur zavarovalnica extends its partnership with L’Étape Slovenia by Tour de France for another three years.
Ljubljana, December 22, 2025 – By signing a three-year agreement, Merkur zavarovalnica continues its role as the presenting partner of the cycling festival L’Étape Slovenia by Tour de France. The partnership represents an extension of this year’s successful collaboration and reflects Merkur zavarovalnica’s long-term commitment to projects that promote an active lifestyle, team spirit, and social responsibility. Part of the sponsorship funds will also be allocated to the Matej Mohorič Foundation.
Long-Term Partnerships as the Foundation for Event Development
As the presenting partner, Merkur zavarovalnica continues to play a key role in supporting the strategic development and further enhancement of the event, which year after year strengthens its international profile and recognition as one of the leading events within the global L’Étape by Tour de France series. The festival offers participants a unique cycling experience on routes inspired by professional Tour de France stages, while long-term partnerships significantly contribute to the development of cycling culture, the promotion of an active lifestyle across all generations, and the enrichment of the event program.
Merkur zavarovalnica Business Ride
Already in the first year of collaboration in 2025, the Merkur zavarovalnica Business Ride was introduced in two formats: a group ride and a pairs challenge.
This represents a unique team-building cycling experience designed to connect teams and companies through a shared sporting experience.

The ambassador of Merkur zavarovalnica L’Étape Slovenia by Tour de France remains top Slovenian cyclist Matej Mohorič, whose career, perseverance, and values play a vital role in shaping the identity of the event. As part of the key partnership with Merkur zavarovalnica, a portion of the funds will also support the Matej Mohorič Foundation, helping young people enter the world of cycling and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. This adds a clear social responsibility dimension to the partnership.
