Premiere! Merkur zavarovalnica Business Ride L'Etape Slovenia
As part of the two-day cycling festival L'Etape Slovenia, we are introducing for the first time a team challenge in pairs on Saturday, September 6, 2025, covering 34 km. Registrations open on March 17, 2025.
As Merkur zavarovalnica entering into a partnership of the 2-day event L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France 2025, we are introducing a business ride. It is a new format of cycling event, perfect for all those who love cycling in pairs over a manageable distance and like to socialize, while at the same time wanting to experience the excellence of the Tour de France firsthand. The registration opens on Monday, March 17, 2025.
Business Ride – A Challenge That Connects and Promotes Team Spirit
The Business Ride is aimed at clubs, organizations, companies, and individuals who want to feel the Tour de France experience as part of the L'Etape Slovenia 2025 weekend event.
Each team consists of two cyclists, who must complete the route together. The final ranking is determined by the time of the last team member crossing the finish line.
A Flat Route of 34 km
The Business Ride will take place on the roads of Gorenjska region, with the start and finish in Kranj, near the L'Etape Village. The planned route is 34 km long, featuring a mostly flat profile and an elevation gain of 333 meters.

- Event Date: Saturday, September 6, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM (tentative)
- Start/Finish: Kranj, Koroška cesta, near L'Etape Village at Slovenski trg
- Distance: 34 km
- Elevation Gain: 333 m
- Race Format: Team-based – in pairs
- Team Categories: Men’s, Women’s, Mixed
- Timing: Yes
- Bike Type Restrictions: None – all technically sound bikes allowed (including e-bikes)
- Mandatory Equipment: Cycling helmet and a water bottle with sufficient hydration
- Age Restriction: Participants must be 18 years or older on September 5, 2025

Business Ride – A Grand Tour Experience
The premiere edition of the Business Ride will be conducted in the spirit of the Tour de France. The organizer will ensure top-level safety measures, including:
- Full or partial road closures
- Route signage and direction by marshals
- Police escort
- Technical assistance
- Medical support
Due to the short race format, there will be no feed zones on the route. However, refreshments will be available at the finish line.

Registration for the Merkur zavarovalnia Business Ride L'Etape Slovenia opens on Monday, March 17, 2025. Entry Fee: €59.99 per team (VAT included).
Registration includes:
- Race number for both participants
- Timing chip (provided by our partner TIMING)
- Event-themed short-sleeve T-shirt
T-Shirt Size Selection: Participants must select their T-shirt size during registration. Available sizes: Men’s and Women’s XS to 3XL
