Open registrations for the L’Etape Slovenia Kids’ Rides Future Heroes
For the fourth year in a row, Gorenjska Banka is enabling free registration for the children’s cycling events Future Heroes in the spirit of Tour de France!
Registration is now open for the children’s cycling races Future Heroes, which will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Once again, Gorenjska banka, the strategic partner of the two-day cycling festival L’Etape Slovenia, is offering free registration. These non-competitive races give young cycling heroes the chance to experience the thrill of a big race in a fun, relaxed atmosphere – with loud cheering from parents, friends, and spectators. And who knows – maybe Didi the devil will join as well!
Welcome, Young Cycling Talents - Future Heroes
The central event area will be set up at Slovenski trg, which will transform into a L’Etape Slovenia village with numerous exhibitors, a rich program, and kid-friendly entertainment.
The event will also feature Matej Mohorič, ambassador of L’Etape Slovenia, who has been actively supporting the event for years and is always thrilled to encourage young competitors, future cycling champions, and enthusiasts.
Free Registration for L’Etape Slovenia Kids’ Rides Future Heroes
The rides for toddlers and children up to age 12 will take place near Slovenski trg on an 800 m closed loop. There are three age categories with different race lengths, all non-competitive and without timekeeping:
- Group 1 – Kids A (up to 4 years old): 1 lap (800 m) on a balance bike or regular bike.(Parents may run alongside their child but must not obstruct other young riders.)
- Group 2 – Kids B (4–8 years old): 2 laps (1.6 km) on a regular bike.
- Group 3 – Kids C (9–12 years old): 3 laps (2.4 km) on a regular bike
Advance registration is mandatory and free of charge. Spots are limited, so don’t wait!
Key Info & Race Details
A helmet and a technically sound bicycle are required. Parents/guardians are responsible for the condition of the bike. The youngest riders (Group 1) may use balance bikes, others must use regular bikes. To ensure maximum safety, the number of participants is limited. The organizer may close registration once the safe capacity is reached.
Only pre-registered participants with a valid start number may take part.
Start number pickup takes place on the day of the event at Kranj City Hall (Mestna občina Kranj) from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Numbers not collected at least 1 hour before the race start may be reassigned to others on the waitlist.
Group Start Times:
- 3:10 PM – Group 1
- 3:20 PM – Group 2
- 3:30 PM – Group 3
