The Merkur zavarovalnica Business stage is a 34 km route offered in two formats:

• as a competitive event – Team race (teams of two), and
• as a non‑competitive Group ride, a relaxed ride accompanied by an official vehicle.

Closed roads, official vehicle escort, and a lively cheering atmosphere. No restrictions regarding bike type; e‑bikes are also allowed.

Children’s Challenges Future Heroes for the youngest on balance bikes and for primary‑school children in various age categories, taking place on an 800 m loop right next to the main event venue on Slovenski trg.

The Family Group Ride, a 13 km flat route.

Due to the limited number of spots for the children’s challenges and the family ride, prior free registration is required, made possible by Gorenjska banka. Registrations are expected to open in May/June 2026.

K0.0.lesarim na polno! Dare to challenge Matej Mohorič in the world’s shortest time‑trial‑like experience. A sprint climb up Jelenov klanec in the centre of Kranj, 500 m long and located right next to the main venue.

This boutique challenge has a limited number of spots; registrations are expected to open in spring 2026.

L’Etape Slovenia by Tour de France is the best experience any amateur cyclist can enjoy on his bike. A unique experience with an amazing route, fight for official Tour de France jerseys, and cyclist friendly village at start and finish zone in Kranj. We aim to make L’Étape Slovenia to be accessible to every amateur cyclist, therefore we have provided 2 formats of routes. The registration fee is the same for both. The routes 2026 are under preparation, but approximate distance will be similar to past events.

Simply download the route and upload it to your smart device, then set off on your ride. Let every kilometre inspire you and make your cycling experience truly enjoyable.

The organizer reserves the right to modify the route or individual sections whenever necessary to ensure the highest level of safety for all participants or in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Cycling races are not just competitions for victory; they are also an opportunity for cyclists to show respect to fellow competitors, spectators, the sport, and organizers.

The purpose of recreational races is not to promote competitiveness but a healthy and active way of spending leisure time.

Each participation in a race requires a certain level of physical fitness and good psychophysical condition. Excessive strain on your body in non-professional settings is not beneficial and can even be detrimental. The guiding principle of recreation is joy. Pure joy, socializing, making connections, and maintaining the body in excellent condition for a quality aging process.

The collection will be available at regular retail prices in the stores of the L'Etape Slovenia partner and during the 2‑day festival at the event venue.

Before the race

• Your personalized race number and personalized number plate.
• A bagage label for the bag you'll leave at the left luggage facilities on the morning of the race.
• The Welcome Bag: a L'Étape Slovenia by Tour de France bag with goodies from our partners and the official L'Étape map with details about the race. and practical information about getting to the start and finish areas.
• Bike deposits are available at the Village (Kranj), where you can leave your bikes in a secure area at the times indicated.

During the race

• Medical assistance throughout the race.
• Both stationary and mobile mechanical assistance will be provided free of charge including at the feeding stations.
• Access to the feeding stations during the race.
• Participation to the official Sprint Challenge & KOM Challenge to compete to win the Tour de France Green Jersey & Polka Dot jersey.
• If you have to withdraw from the race, we will provide transport to the finish line.

After the race:

• A finishers' medal.
• Meal.
• Access to the Finish Village, activities and entertainment, toilets, podium and big screen.
• Your official results.

L'Etape Slovenia route segments on the Rouvy platform

For all indoor cycling fans, we have prepared three rides – three training sessions. The longer route of the premiere edition of L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France 2022 has been divided into three stages, which you can ride virtually on the >>> Rouvy platform.

When planning the event, we strive to adopt measures to reduce our carbon footprint on the environment and carefully plan the implementation of activities towards the realization of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (UN).

The choice of the host city is also not accidental, as the city of Kranj boasts a rich cycling history and tradition, the title of the Platinum Label of the Slovenian Tourism Green Scheme and the title of European Destination of Excellence 2023. Accessibility and proximity to public transport and Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport also played an important role, as this is an event with international participation.
