L'Etape Slovenia's partner network enriched by collaboration with the French Embassy in Slovenia
The L'Etape Slovenia team was delighted to attend a special event hosted by the French Embassy in Slovenia in celebration of France's National Day. We are proud that the partner network of the 2-day cycling festival Merkur zavarovalnica L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France continues to grow. With an increasingly diverse partnership network, the event expands each year, offering participants even more: a variety of cycling challenges and a richer accompanying program.
France’s National Day – Bastille Day
France’s National Day marks two historic events: the Storming of the Bastille, when revolutionaries took over the fortress during the French Revolution in 1789, and the Fête de la Fédération, a celebration of unity and the revolution that took place exactly one year later. The French have celebrated this national holiday since 1880. Key features of the day, which always falls during the Tour de France, include traditional local dances, a military parade in Paris, and fireworks.
Liberty! Equality! Fraternity!
The event was held under the slogans of the French Revolution (fr. liberté, égalité, fraternité), values that remain highly relevant today.
Cycling was the connecting thread of the event, where guests also had the chance to experience what it’s like to be a participant in L'Etape Slovenia and enjoy the thrill of riding part of the route on the Rouvy platform.
