Registrations for the Family Ride L’Etape Slovenia are open
Free registration for the family cycling event in the Tour de France spirit is made possible by Gorenjska banka.
The family cycling event in the spirit by the Tour de France will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with the start scheduled for 4:30 PM. The 12.5 km route will run through the surroundings of Kranj, with the start and finish located near the main event venue. For the fourth consecutive year, Gorenjska banka, the strategic partner of the two-day cycling festival Merkur Zavarovalnica L’Etape Slovenia by Tour de France, is making free registration possible.
Family and all generations ride
The ride is non-competitive, held at a relaxed pace with no timekeeping. The focus is on enjoying the experience of the Tour de France together. The route is suitable for children who have passed their cycling safety exam, can ride independently, and are used to cycling in a group. Each child must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult, and must wear a helmet and use a technically safe bicycle.
Basic information and route
All registered participants will start together at approximately 4:30 PM from Slovenski trg in Kranj – at a clearly marked location on Koroška cesta.
The ride offers a first-class group cycling experience, accompanied by escort vehicles and taking place on closed roads or with a rolling roadblock.
The 12.5 km route runs from Slovenski trg through the city center–Britof–Brdo–Kokrica–back to Kranj.
Free Registration & Start Number
Pre-registration is mandatory due to a limited number of available spots. The organizer may close registrations at any time to ensure the safety of all participants.
All registered participants must pick up their start number on the day of the event at the Kranj City Hall lobby, no later than 1 hour before the start. Participation without a start number is not allowed.
If the start number is not picked up on time, it will be released and made available to another participant on the event day if all spots are filled.
All participants who successfully cross the finish line will receive a commemorative medal. BRAVO!
