Road Closure Notice for L’Etape Slovenia 2026
On 5 and 6 September 2026, certain roads and road access points in Kranj and the surrounding area will be temporarily closed for short periods (30–60 minutes).
On 5 and 6 September 2026, roads and connecting roads along the routes of the cycling events within the Merkur zavarovalnica L’Etape Slovenia by Tour de France festival in Kranj and its surrounding areas will be subject to temporary full road closures (30–60 minutes) to ensure the safety of all participants. We kindly ask all road users for their understanding and cooperation and thank you in advance for respecting the instructions of police officers and event marshals.

Main Venue at Slovenski trg
The main venue, L’Etape Slovenia Village, featuring numerous exhibitors, an entertainment programme, a giant screen, and a food & beverage area, will be located at Slovenski trg. During the event, roads leading directly to Slovenski trg will be fully closed

Plan your arrival in advance. If possible, come by bicycle. Free parking for participants of Sunday’s events is available at the Supernova Shopping Centre, Savski otok.
Saturday Events, 5 September 2026 Partial or Full Road Closures: 12:00–20:00
Merkur zavarovalnica Business Stages – 34 km
Start times: 13:30 and 13:35. The competitive Business Stage Team Race and the Business Stage ISO Ride group ride take place on the same route, with start times separated by a five-minute interval.

Rolling road closures: 13:00–15:00
Children’s Cycling Rides Future Heroes
The children’s rides will take place in Kranj near the main venue at Slovenski trg, with starts for the three age groups between 15:20 and 15:40.
- Route: Koroška Road (Hotel Creina, start) – Gregorčičeva Street – Stritarjeva Street – Koroška Road – Kranj
Family Ride and Cycling for All Generations – 12.5 km
- Start time: 16:30, route: Kranj – Britof – Predoslje – Brdo – Kokrica – Kranj
- Rolling road closures: 16:30–18:00.

The challenge begins at 18:20, when 100 participants will start at 30-second intervals and compete on the climb to Jelenov klanec. The individual runs will be followed by:
- Semifinal at 19:20
- Superfinal at 19:30
Sunday Events, 6 September 2026
Ride and Race – Partial or Full Road Closures: 08:00–16:00
Starting at 09:00 on Koroška Road near Gimnazija Kranj, the following recreational road cycling events will take place:
- Decathlon the Ride – 80 km
- Tosidos the Race – 130 km
The routes pass through multiple municipalities, including: Kranj, Škofja Loka, Medvode, Vodice, Komenda, Kamnik, Cerklje na Gorenjskem, Šenčur, Preddvor and Železniki, before finishing in Kranj.
To ensure the safe and smooth running of the event, roads will be fully closed for short periods of time (30–60 minutes).
During closures traffic will be reopened for periods of up to 15 minutes where possible. Roads and access points will be closed and reopened according to the progress of the race. All roads and junctions will be reopened immediately after the last cyclist has passed. Between groups of cyclists, traffic in the race direction may also be temporarily released.
