L'Etape Slovenia Cycling Festival Program 2025
On September 6 & 7, 2025, Slovenski trg in Kranj will transform into the L'Etape Slovenia Village, packed with cycling activities, a rich accompanying program, and a performance by Nina Pušlar.
For the fourth consecutive year, the City of Kranj together with the Institute for Tourism and Culture Kranj (Visit Kranj) will host Merkur Insurance L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France. This global series event, held under the prestigious umbrella of the Tour de France, once again brings the experience of the legendary race to cycling enthusiasts of all generations. The opening ceremony of the village will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 12:30, featuring appearances by Matej Mohorič and the official Tour de France mascot, the famous cycling devil Didi.

INFO Point & Race Number Pick-up
The INFO point will once again be located in the lobby of the City of Kranj, Slovenski trg 1 (entrance from Brioni parking).
Opening hours:
- Saturday: 10:00–18:00
- Sunday: 07:00–15:00
Race numbers can be collected for all Saturday challenges and Sunday’s 80 km and 130 km events.
Numbers must be collected no later than 1 hour before the start of the chosen race.

- 10:00–14:30 → Children’s Challenge Future Heroes → bib
- 10:00–15:30 → Family Ride → bib
- 13:30–17:30 → Kolesari na polno! Jelenov klanec Challenge → jersey & timing chip

- 07:00–08:15 → Sunday races (80 km & 130 km) – race pack and jersey (if ordered)
Pick-up is personal only, with a valid ID. Participants of Sunday’s challenge must also show their QR code received by email.
Saturday Program | Sept 6, 2025 (12:30–20:00)
This year’s Saturday program features the Merkur Insurance Business Stage, a 34 km route (Kranj–Žeje–Križe–Golnik–Kranj) with two formats:
Pairs Race (timed)
Group Ride (not timed, registration open until Sept 3, 2025)
Children can join the Future Heroes challenges (3 age groups, 800 m loop near the venue). The youngest may participate with balance bikes. Families can join the 12.5 km Family Ride (Kranj–Brdo pri Kranju–Kranj). Registration is free thanks to Gorenjska banka – spots are limited.
To cap off the day, the boutique Kolesari na polno! time-trial challenge on Jelenov klanec will feature 100 daring riders.
New this year: a Super Final – the top 5 women and top 5 men will face each other head-to-head!
Sunday Program | Sept 7, 2025 (08:30–17:00)
The Sunday challenges start simultaneously at 9:00:
- Shorter 80 km route
- Longer 130 km route
Amateur road cyclists will compete for the iconic Tour de France jerseys: Yellow, White, Green, and Polka-Dot.
Both races are held on closed roads, with several refreshment stations and extensive safety measures provided by police, marshals, medical staff, and the support team. A record participation is expected, with riders from 30 different countries.
Road Closures
All Saturday and Sunday races take place on closed roads. Expect temporary road closures near the venue and along the routes.

Gallery na mestu – L'Etape Slovenia so far
From Sept 2, 2025, the Gallery on the Spot exhibition will present a photo selection from past editions of L'Etape Slovenia. The exhibition is located permanently near the Kranj City Library (opposite the main entrance).
